Dating from pre-historic times tablet weaving produces an intricate and strong band of weaving. With practice wonderful designs can be created for both strapping and belts and also for edging of clothes. Tablet weaving was very popular during Anglo-Saxon and Viking Periods although very little evidence of looms exists it is likely that a variety of types would have been used. Our loom includes a roller for retaining the woven band.
