A range of traditional drop spindles suitable for both craft and reenactment use. Drop spindles have been used for the hand spinning of wool and plant fibres since neolithic times. Each spindle is supplied with an instruction leaflet. Throughout history many different materials have ben used to create the whorl including lead, wood, bone, stone and ceramics. With a little practice these drop spindles can produce very fine spun threads from wool rovings. Our Drop Spindles are available on as a kit which includes a drop spindle and 50g of wool roving together with instructions to get you started. They are available in lead and wood types. The Viking whorl is available as a single item.
